Betsy & Carrie Recommend:

The Pros of Cons by Alison Cherry, Lindsay Ribar, and Michelle Schusterman

The Pros of Cons by Alison Cherry, Lindsay Ribar, and Michelle Schusterman is a fun, quirky read about three girls who end up at the same convention center for three very different cons. It speaks to our nerdy hearts and is all about the power of female friendships!

Fear the Drowning Deep by Sarah Glenn Marsh

Fear the Drowning Deep by Sarah Glenn Marsh is a beautiful, atmospheric book that has an otherworldly setting, the Isle of Mann. As fans of the strange and unusual, we were captivated by the sea monsters lurking in this book. Like Sasquatch, who doesn’t get enough play in YA literature, we’re also always in favor of more sea monsters!

Royals by Rachel Hawkins

Royals by Rachel Hawkins is next on our to be read list this summer. We’re big fans of her work, especially the Hex Hall series, and her epic twitter threads about sexy history. Of course, after the royal wedding, we’re certainly in the mood for some more romance! We’re also really hoping that there will be more diverse romances with princesses published for YA soon, like the awesome Alyssa Cole is writing for adults (A Princess in Theory, Duke by Default).
