Let’s Pretend This Never Happened (Dear Dumb Diary #1) by Jim Benton is about a girl name Jamie Kelly and her life as she writes in her diary. She claims that everything she writes in her diary is true, but sometimes you can tell that she makes some stuff up too!
In her diary, Jamie talks about her life at Mackerel Middle School, her teachers, friends, and Angeline who is the prettiest and most popular girl at school who Jamie can’t stand. Jamie also mentions her little cousin and her mother’s terrible cooking!
I really loved all of the funny and cool pictures in the book. It helped me to see what kind of adventures Jaime got into!
My favorite character was Jaime’s enemy Angeline because she preppy and thinks she knows everything. I also like her because she reminds me a lot of my sister.
I would give this book four stars.
