Tonight the Streets are Ours by Leila Sales
By La’Rissa Dunn
Arden Huntley is a seventeen year old teenager that’s in her senior year. One special thing about her is that she is recklessly loyal. She’s always loved and is there in a second when someone needs her, and her mother, her best friend, and even her boyfriend take advantage of that, unfortunately. As a result, things start going left for her, until she stumbles upon a website called Tonight The Streets Are Ours. This blog tells a story about a New York Writer named Peter who seems to be going through some of the same things as Arden. She becomes addicted to his daily posts and can’t stop reading them. She starts to feel as if maybe, in an odd way, he gets her. Peter gets her. That maybe she isn’t alone.
She takes a journey from a small town in Pennsylvania to New York City to go find him, but comes to discover that he isn’t exactly as he seems. At the same time she discovers that, maybe she isn’t exactly who she thought she was either.
Tonight the Streets are Ours is all about love how much love we give VS how much we receive. Author Leila Sales helps us see the life of an overgiving girl who only wishes to be loved. This book teaches us how to love ourselves and know what boundaries we should and shouldn’t cross.
I’d give this book a 4.5/5 stars. Definitely worth binge reading!
