Lydia Mann Recommends:
THE ACCIDENTAL HERO (A JACK BLANK ADVENTURE) by Matt Myklusch
The Jack Blank series is one of the most clever and original I’ve read in a while. Jack is an orphan who has no idea who he really is. When a deadly robot tries to kill him, everything changes. Matt Myklusch’s love of comic books and adventure helped inspire this series. If you have a kid that thinks reading is boring. Give them this book!
BEN THE DRAGONBORN (THE SIX WORLDS) (VOL 1) by Dianne E Astle
Diane E Astle is an independent author who has captured the imagination of kids of all ages. Ben The Dragonborn is a coming of age fantasy story. I love books with themes that challenge kids to “be more” than they think they are!
THE BLACK STALLION by Walter Farley
This is an absolute children’s classic. I fell in love with the Black Stallion and Island Stallion books at about age 9. I was one of those little girls who LOVED horses. So naturally, these books were right at the top of my favorites list. I still re-read these about every 10 years or so. In fact, I probably need to do that again soon!
