Terry Recommends:
Division of the Marked by March McCarron
It’s a Victorian fantasy set in a world that blends Asia and the West. People are granted powers (gifts) that make them more than human, and forced to choose a side in a society split down the middle. It’s clever, smart, and has that unique feel of two worlds in the same frame. I loved it, and the next two books in the series were even better.
White Dragon by Anne McCaffrey
I’ve been reading her books for forty years, and nothing has ever charged my imagination like her majestic dragons in their noble fight.
I just bought my son a copy, and it’s still hilarious after all these years.
